Year 12

Year Twelve Itinerary

Below is a list of the major places we will visit during year twelve of our voyage.

France: Spain & Sardinia

Barcelona, S'Agaro, Case Dell'abbat.

Arriving back from the U.S. in Barcelona, Spain, we get the boat ready for the next season and then had out, ready to cross to Sardinia, where we plan to do a little scuba diving.



Rome, Lavinio, San Felice Circeo, Procida, Amalfi, Marina di Camerota.

Leaving northern Sardinia, we cross the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west coast of Italy to visit, inland, to Rome.  After a few days, we head southeast, down the coast of Italy.



Stromboli, Messina.

We stop in Massina and wait for a weather window to cross the Ionian Sea, headed for Greece.


Greece (southern)

Voidokilia Beach, Koroni, Porto Kagio, Gefira, Septses, Mandraki.

On reaching Greece, we go around the southern end, making a few stops on our way up toward Athens.


Greek Isles

Anavyssos (Athens), Mikonos, Naxos, Paros, Karamares, Andamantas, Cape Kleftiko, Agkali, Santorini, Exo Vatni, Gyali.

After visiting the capital for a few days, we sail out into the Aegean Sea to visit some of the quaint Greek Isles, starting with Mikonos, working out way to Santorini. Then we turn east and sail toward Turkey, visiting a few more Greek Isles on the way to Rhodes, where we will clear out of the Schengen.


Turkey (southwest)

Greece: Rhodes.
Turkey: Marmaris, Gocek Bay, Kaz, Finike, Antalya, Side, Alanya.

After clearing out of Greece in Rhodes, we cross to Marmaris and clear into Turkey, then get a little boat work done before sailing further east along the southern Turkish coast, making several stops along the way.


Turkey (southeast)

Anamur, Bozyazi, Tisan, Akdeniz, Mersin.

Continuing our sail along the southern coast of Turkey, we make several more stops on our way to Mersin, where we will tour inland in Turkey.



Karpaz Gate Marina and Limasol Marina.

From Turkey, we cross to the island of Cyprus, stopping first in the north at Karpaz before sailing around to the southern end at Limisol.  We will wait there for a weather window for a long sail back to Greece.



Nikolaos, Heraklion, Heraklion, Rethimno, Chania, Imeri Gramvousa.

We arrive at the Island of Crete and clear back into the Schengen area.  Then we Tour Crete, making stops along the north coast.  At Imeri Gramvousa, we wait for a weather window to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Malta.



Valletta, St. George's Bay, Azure Window, Mgarr.

Arriving in Malta, we visit the capital before sailing clockwise around Malta, stopping at the famous Azure Window, and then going around to Mgarr, our port of exit to cross to Sicily.  We will wait there for the right weather window.



Syracuse, Catania, Messina, Lipari, San Gregorio-Bagnoli, Cefalu, Palermo, san Vito Lo Capo, Marsala.

We return to Sicily, which we passed by earlier, having stopped in Messina.  Arriving on the southeastern shore, we head north to Messina again, then turn west and stop along the northern shore on our way to the west end.  We wait in Marsala for a weather window for the long crossing, west, to Morocco.  Before leaving, we clear out of the Schengen area.



Nador, Tangier, Asilah, Ctre Ville, Rabat, Casablanca.

After a long passage from Sicily, we arrive in Nador and clear into Morocco.  from there, we sail to Tangier, on the opposite side from Gibraltar.  Then we turn southwest and go down the shore, stopping in several ports on our way to Casablanca.


Morocco & Canary Islands

Morocco: Agadir.
Canary Islands: Puerto del Rosario, Morro Jable, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Playa de la Americas, San Sabastian de La Gomera, Santa Cruz de la Palma, Puerto de la Estaca. 

When a weather window is available, we sail southwest from Agadir to the Canary Islands.  We then tour all the islands, provisioning for the Atlantic crossing in Las Palmas, then waiting for our weather window in Puerto de la Estaca.


Caribbean: St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines

Rodney Bay, Soufriere, Chateaubelair, Kingstown, Port Elizabeth.

Having crossed the Atlantic from Europe, we arrive in St. Lucia for Christmas.  We soon head south as we start making our way toward the Panama Canal, but we have some fun stops along the way.  We end the year in Port Elizabeth.
