Tuamotu Atolls

Apataki, Tuau, Fakarava (N & S), Faaite

Having returned from the US, we put S/V Lynx back in the water at Apataki Atoll and then head south to Tuau, then onto Fakarava, where we traverse the lagoon, then stop at Faaite before making our way back toward the Society Islands.

Society Islands

Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Maupiti, Maupiha'a

In our second voyage through the Society Islands, the first being ten years ago, we make our way through the chain, leaving from Maupiti, and making a stop at Maupiha'a.

Cook Islands and Niue

Cook Islands: Rarotonga.
Niue: Beverage Reef and Niue

On arriving in Rarotonga, we stay for a week before sailing on west to Beverage Reef. Weather permitting, we will stop there and scuba dive. We sail on to Niue for a week stay, weather permitting. It is an unprotected anchorage, so we many be forced to move on sooner.

Kingdom of Tonga

Tongatapu Group, Ha'apai Group, Vava'u Group.

For our second visit to Tonga, we clear in at the Tongatapu Group, in Nuku'alofa. We then sail north to stay at various islands in this group before sailing further north to visit the Ha'apai Group. Afte rthat, we head north again to the Vava'u Group. When we leave there, we head north again, checking out at Niuatoputapu to head for Wallis and Fortuna.

Wallis and Futuna

Mata'utu, Leava.

For the first time in our voyage, we visit both of the Wallis and Futuna islands, clearing in at Mata'utu and out at Leava.

Fiji

Vanua and Viti Levu

Returning for our second stay in Fiji, we again start in Savusavu to clear in, but this time we do a clockwise circumnavigation of Vanua, then head south to Namacu and Nairai, before heading for Suva on Viti Levu. We then go counterclockwise around Viti Levu, ending in Lautoka, where we clear out of Fiji, ready to sail west toward Vanuatu.

Vanuatu

Loganville, Port Vila, Lenakel.

We clear into Vanuatu in Loganville, then head back east to stops along Pentecost Island to see some land diving. From there, we sail to Epi Island and then on to Efate Island. We make a stop on Erromango Island and then head for the last island, south, called Tanna, where we clear out from Lanakel to head for New Caledonia.

New Caledonia

Noumea, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia, Isle of Pines

Noumea is the only port of entry to New Caedonia, so we must sail there and clear in, before returning east to the Loyalty Islands. We cross to the eastern shore of the main island, and head south. We go to the Isle of Pines, then back to Noumea to clear out and head for Australia.

Australia

Brisbane

We arrive in Brisbane by November 1st to get out of the Cyclone area within our insurance window. We leave the boat there on the hard for four months, then return to continue our voyage the next year.
