Video Release: Working Hard in the Hulls
Now that we finished up the cabin top supports, it was time to go back down into the hulls to work in the bilges again. We get the final Alexseal 501 paint onto the bilges and get to work on finishing up the soles.

Images: Evening Star
Although her build started after us, Evening Star is the first Solitaire 1520 to splash! She was built by a professional boat building company in Australia Mahi Boat, and done in about two years. We have spoken with the owners often during their build and followed along. Evening Star is a real beauty, The sailing data we have received from her captain on Evening Star's first major voyage is good, she is performing well within expected speeds, both under sail and power.

Video Release: Glassing Beams and Bilge Work
This week we concentrated on glassing in the cabin top support beams and the poles that hold it up. We also got further along on the bilges, getting the first coats of Alexseal Super Build epoxy primer down.

Video Release: Building Cabin Top Supports
It was time to tackle the Cabin Top supports and get that finished, but we also finished up the Diesel Tank Inspection Ports, made progress on the rudders, and started on the kickup rudder mechanisms.

Video Release: Tanks, Tracks, & Casings
We made big progress on the built in diesel tanks, and progressed the mainsail track installation. If that wasn't enough, we also got started mounting the daggerboard casings into the side deck. Lots of work accomplished!

Video Release: Sealing the Diesel Tanks
We got down and dirty in the bilges this week as we sealed up the diesel tanks and got to work on some of the other plumbing and conduits in the bilge areas. We also made progress on the mainsail track re-installation with a little help from Brian's brother, Dale.

Video Release: Mainsail Track & Fluid gauges
With the rains finished, we got to work up on the cabin top, painting the mainsail track area and installing the track again. We also got a lot of work done down in the hulls on the fluid gauges for all our liquid tanks, gray, black, and diesel.

Video Release: Stormy Progress
It was a double storm week, but we kept working anyway, shifting into my garage to work on the rudders and rudder boxes. Once the rain cleared, we assessed the damage at the lot and cleaned up the boat. Then we got to work!

We got started on the difficult bows and also started working the Starboard Sugar Scoop. Then a big rain storm arrived, but we kept working in my garage, making a Kick-up rudder box. We also give our the answer for how much diesel the tanks will hold.

Video Release: Mainsail Track and Heads
We got to work on the western red cedar and G10 mainsail track lower reinforcements, getting the first layers of glass over them as well. We also cut out all the hatches and did the edge treatments on the soles that go down in the hulls.

Video Release: Repeats and Redos
We got to work building the new steps for the sugar scoops, then had to redo some work on the mainsail track to rectify an omission of some reinforcement layers on the cabin top. We also worked on the steering and tank inspection ports.

Video Release: New Stern Steps
We continued working on the stern of the boat this week, and along the way, decided to make a custom alteration to the way the steps work. It's a little more work, but we think it will make the boat better!

We started working out the mechanism for the kickup rudders, and progressed work on the sugar scoops for the stern decks. We also got to mounting the Goiot Mainsail track onto the cabin top.

After recovering from the massive rain storm early in the week, the S/V Lynx crew got to work on building the sugar scoops, with their kick-up rudder mechanisms. They also continued work on the tank lids and the Nav Station.
